These rules apply when you use our website, submit forms, request comparisons, set rate alerts, contact us, submit business or solar inquiries, or otherwise interact with UtilityProviders. They supplement our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
Prohibited conduct
When using UtilityProviders, the following conduct is not permitted:
- Intellectual-property violations. Uploading, publishing or using content that infringes copyrights, trademarks, publicity rights or other rights of a third party.
- False identity or impersonation. Pretending to be another person, a provider, utility, regulator, UtilityProviders employee or other organization without authorization.
- False or misleading submissions. Providing information you know is materially false, deceptive or intended to manipulate comparison, referral, quote or alert workflows.
- Unauthorized account activity. If account functionality is offered, creating accounts to evade restrictions, re-establishing a terminated account without permission, or sharing credentials with an unauthorized third party.
- Defamation or unlawful content. Publishing content that unlawfully defames, threatens, harasses or targets another person or organization.
- Unauthorized framing or interface manipulation. Framing, overlaying, masking or altering UtilityProviders pages in a way that misrepresents the source, hides required disclosures or changes how advertising, referral notices or comparison information is presented.
- Unauthorized automated access. Using bots, scripts, crawlers, scrapers or other automated means to extract data, probe the site or submit forms at scale without our written permission, except ordinary search-engine indexing that complies with our published directives.
- Tracking other users. Deploying cookies, pixels, scripts, web bugs or similar technology through UtilityProviders to track or profile other users without authorization.
- Collecting personal information. Attempting to obtain another user's contact details, credentials or other personal information through deception, scraping, interception or unauthorized access.
- Spam and unsolicited promotion. Using contact, sharing, referral or notification tools to send spam, bulk promotions, deceptive solicitations or repetitive messages.
- Security interference. Attempting to bypass authentication, access controls, rate limits, bot protections or other technical or security measures.
- Malicious code. Uploading, transmitting or introducing viruses, Trojan horses, worms, ransomware, time bombs, malicious scripts or other code intended to damage, disrupt, intercept or expropriate systems or data.
- Service disruption. Conducting denial-of-service activity, excessive automated requests, abusive crawling or other activity that degrades site performance or availability.
- Manipulating disclosures or referral links. Removing, obscuring or altering disclosures, provider-identification information, affiliate/referral notices, pricing context or outbound provider links.
- Trademark misuse. Modifying or creating confusingly similar versions of the UtilityProviders name, logo or brand elements, or using provider/utility trademarks in a way that falsely implies affiliation.
- Unauthorized representations. Speaking on behalf of UtilityProviders, describing yourself as our employee, agent or authorized representative, or using our branding in correspondence without written permission.
- Illegal activity. Using the site to facilitate fraud, identity theft, unauthorized access, unlawful marketing, or any activity prohibited by applicable U.S. federal, state or local law.
- Abusive or threatening content. Submitting profanity directed at others, hate speech, credible threats of violence, harassment or content intended primarily to intimidate another person.
- Privacy violations. Publishing another person's private contact, account or identifying information without lawful authority or permission.
- Sexually explicit or exploitative content. Submitting pornographic, sexually explicit or exploitative material through our forms or interactive features.
- Irrelevant or disruptive submissions. Repeatedly submitting content that is unrelated to the form, service or topic being used, especially where intended to disrupt normal operation.
- Duplicate or abusive submissions. Repeatedly sending the same request, quote form, review-style feedback or inquiry in a way that burdens systems or misrepresents demand.
- Advertising and link spam. Using forms or user-submission features primarily to place advertisements, paid links, affiliate promotions, SEO links or other link spam.
- Reverse engineering. Attempting to derive source code, non-public APIs, internal logic or security controls except where such restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
- Misuse of provider or utility information. Republishing logos, pricing, plan data or utility information from UtilityProviders in a way that removes context, creates confusion, or falsely suggests authorization by the named company.
Search engines and ordinary browsing
Normal browser access is permitted. Search engines may index publicly available pages in accordance with our robots directives. High-volume scraping, automated form submission, security probing or collection of non-public data is not permitted without written authorization.
Provider and utility trademarks
Provider and utility names, logos and trademarks displayed on UtilityProviders belong to their respective owners. They are used for identification, comparison and informational purposes. Their appearance does not by itself mean that a company sponsors, endorses or authorizes UtilityProviders.
Enforcement
We may block requests, restrict access, remove submissions, suspend features, preserve evidence or take other reasonable steps when we believe these rules have been violated or site security is at risk. Serious conduct may be referred to service providers, affected companies or appropriate authorities where permitted by law.
Changes to these rules
We may update these Site Rules as our services, technology or legal obligations change. The version posted on this page applies to use of the site after publication.
